Hello guys, for a couple days now I have been playing Super Metroid hacks. I have been uploading some videos of some game play as well. Everything is great except for the weird crackling issue with the emulator. One of my recordings small crackling appeared while I was in Maridia (in water). The crackling lasted until I made it to the next room. Now I use Snes9x because it has easier widescreen options than ZSNES (also because widescreen breaks when I enable it with ZSNES), and it supports graphic quality options like "hq4x" which ZSNES does not have at all (at least that I know of).

Here is an image of what I have set up already for the sound quality.

Anyone able to help me with this? Would like the best sound quality for my recordings.

I've run into this issue with snes9x before with any ROM I play. I think it might be something the developers overlooked, then again, I'm no coding and sound geek. I just play on as usual as this issue doesn't affect the gameplay. A little jarring, but otherwise easily ignored.

Which version are you using? I've used both 1.52 and 1.53 fine, then the same rom on 1.51 had some very weird sounds occasionally. (I know 1.54 is now a thing but I haven't tried it)

1.51 here. Is there any valid reason for me to update to the latest? Because I still have yet to run into any major game-breaking issues apart from this minor sound issue.

Steel Sparkle

Get it. it has a rewind feature now and it's really cool. you get to watch it rewind your actions like a movie or something  :^_^:

DSO

I sometimes get that crackling pop sound but it's specifically tied to recording .avi files from the emulator for me. I'm currently using 1.53.

Scyzer

Click Sound > Playback Rate > 22KHz.

That's what works for me, but if it still crackles choose a lesser quality.
