I made this for a friend that kept getting frustrated playing the game because he didn't know what sort of ammo was required to open doors. All I did was edit the palettes 0-3 to change the colors that govern the doors.

I made pb doors more yellow, and kept blue doors the same.

For the sake of streaming/recording purposes, I made super doors mostly white, but kept the outer green, and made missile doors black with the outer part red.

I realize changing the palette changes quite a bit of colors elsewhere, and it may be that black or white might get washed out in certain places in the game, but for the purpose of making doors distinguishable for colorblind people, this should be more than enough.

I believe, but am not certain, that this ips patch can be used for randomizers. Using it for hacks is more of a YMMV type of deal, since 1: I only changed the palettes of tilesets that are used for colored doors in the original game, and 2: Each hack may have changed the palettes on their own.

For those curious, I used this: http://mkweb.bcgsc.ca/colorblind/
to try to get colors that are more easily differentiable, and was originally planning on using the more distinct colors in that site with the 7 color palette, but then just decided to keep the colors of the two most distinct colors to begin with, and change the other two to black and white.

If anyone that needs this, and doesn't think the colors are distinct enough, let me know and I'll go back to the 7 color palette.

edit: added image, and more description

edit 2: he agreed the black is a bit much, kinda hard to see, so I made a different version. find it attached as 1.1

This is cool. It would be fun to see what else gets unintentionally recolored when using this.

Genesis

That's funny I have a colorblind friend who loves the SNES.
