Rename PLM'S?

I was playing Phazon hack and i saw renamed PLM's.

I wanted to figure out how to do this to I messed around a bit and found out about messages and then figured them out using SMILE.

But I can't find anywhere to edit a message text or anything like that. Anybody know how its done. Help appreciated. :grin:
