In a choice between dumb and dumber, I'd rather have Trump over Hillary.
Hillary supports the third way feminism that hates anything and everything, and there is no way I want that to be in charge of our country. (Plus Trump could potentially get impeached, so that's another upside.)

Though if it we're really up to me, I would've much preferred either Bernie Sanders or Ted Cruz, that would've been an actual choice, but as the topic says "Thaaaaaat's politics!"

However, I just want to point out, that I think it's silly for anyone to think that this kind of corruption only takes place on the democratic side. It's surely plausible to be happening on both sides, it's just that there is evidence against the DNC. This kind of stuff isn't surprising, people have been accusing the political system of doing shit like this for years and years. It's nice to see someone doing the undercover work to reveal it.

I don't have the answer for how you fix a system where the entire body of it is likely to be corrupt, and I also am not gonna say that electing trump is gonna ruin all the things (that's really just speculation based off of all the rather ridiculous things that he's said), who knows who is actually gonna be elected, and who knows what that means going forward. We just gotta wait and see, and be thoughtful.

I'd honestly like to see less votes for either trump or hillary, and more votes for third parties or nonvoters. A extremely low voter turnout might just send a message that something is very wrong in America.

edit: I'd also like to point out that I find it amusing that it was released in due time for Americans to digest before the last debate, but I'm not seeing any 'mainstream' coverage of it yet, despite it coming out yesterday.

At least it may teach politicians something. The leaks show us that the DNC colluded with media to elevate Trump, Carson and Cruz as pied piper candidates to make the Republicans seem crazy (while sidelining the other less extreme candidates) and also colluded with the Clinton campaign in order to get Clinton through the primaries. In time this will be studied as one of the largest political backfires in history.

This isn't even saying anything about the underestimation and marginalisation of working class rust belt Americans by the political class and what an energetic campaign can do when it gets these people out to vote.

Unfortunately for Democrats, they shot themselves in the foot by picking a dud candidate when they had an excellent choice in the form of Sanders. They essentially sabotaged their own efforts because they were scared of change, ironic from the "progressive" party.
Fortunately a Trump presidency isn't going to be as bad as most people think it will be - however this election will probably demonstrate how little power the president actually has, especially given the lack of support from the GOP Trump (currently) has. The WW3 argument is also unjustified; prior knowledge shows how much of a war hawk Clinton is (see Syria, Libya, the Middle East in general, as well as her stance on Russia). Trump has made some rather terrifying comments on the usage of nukes, however executive power only gets you so much - remember that Bush was in power too.
The real worry comes from the power to pick as many as 4 Supreme Court justices over the next four years. Given that the Republican party has dominance over both the Lower and Upper houses, it means they'll easily be able to push candidates through.
Anyway, I think the major thing we're going to see over the next four years is what the title "President" is actually worth without the support of a party. My prediction: expect a bunch of petty internal squabbling and a whole lot of nothing getting done. Just like what happens over here.

Considering Hillary Clinton's most popular tactics of raising hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the Democratic Party had no choice but to support her - lest some inconvenient blackmail pop up and become a scandal for whomever wished they didn't cross Hillary Clinton. I always found the "I wouldn't vote for a socialist" argument quite funny, because when comparing Sanders' policies to the policies of left wings in other countries, Sanders is more comparable to a center-leftist than a socialist. Hell, our major left wing party (Labor) are closer to socialism than Sanders. I shudder to think of what you'd call our Greens Party. Full-blown commies, I must assume.
I know it's comparing apples and oranges, but it's still very interesting to see the differences between our two countries, despite them seeming quite similar on a surface level.

I'm just at a loss for words.  I have friends in every sort of group that Trump has promoted violence against.  It's already happening with some minorities.  Plus there was the whole, swastikas spray painted onto windows thing already.

I had an open mind for Gary Johnson, but when I read up on his policies, I realized that at best, they wouldn't change anything, and at worst, they'd take tons of money OUT of the economy.  Eliminating the tax code and replacing it with a flat tax is a good idea in theory, but 23% is steep on low income and middle class families.  Exempting essentials is a decent addition to that, but the other exemption makes absolutely no sense: corporations.  If there's ZERO corporate taxes, then all CEOs will just route all their personal expenses through their businesses and avoid paying taxes altogether - legally.  He also supports for-profit prisons, which is the main reason why the USA has the highest incarceration rate in the entire world.

A personal stance I can't agree on is his view on abortions.  He doesn't specify for or against them, but he believes individual states should decide how to handle it.  That's how we've got things such as Texas having literally 3 Planned Parenthood clinics in the entire state.  Government shouldn't decide whether YOU have a child or not, and I'm absolutely sick of mostly male politicians trying to dictate what women can and can't do.

Not all things are relative. I'm not a fan of socialism, nor communism, regardless of where it may exist or where it may even work. Would I rather live in a functional socialist society than a third world hellhole? Sure. But I'm glad I don't have to make that compromise.
