Super Metroid Hacking Competition!

NOTE: This is not the Metroid Construction Contest. This was started by a couple of speedrunners as a way to get into SMILE and hacking in general. Anyone is allowed to enter this. This topic is being posted so there is one place for all the entrants to submit their hacks. (For a quick note, people have to have one post on the forum before they're allowed to attach a file to a post.)

This contest is hosted by Leodox and Mikara

YOUR HACK WILL BE JUDGED BY THE FOLLOW CRITERIA

• Playability, no soft locks, completable, no broken saves / no random freezes or glitchy graphics
• Flow, how well the game progresses, no sequence breaking (no  for really really hard to sequence break), gives sense of adventure / exploration
• Entertainment, how fun the hack is to play
• Quality, slopes work, doors open the correctly / screens scroll correctly, camera follows correctly
• Environment, How well the rooms are made and the quality of the tile layout.

DEADLINE IS ON SEPTEMBER 2ND. If you have any questions about the competition, message Leodox or Mikara on discord.

HACKING DOES AND DON'TS

DO	DON'T
Save often	Wing it!!!!!
Make backup files when testing	Change rooms without saving
Expand your rom	Change enemy properties randomly
Keep track of rooms used	Be afraid to ask for advice
Test from start to finish, and finish to start.	Mess with the PLM slider thing, it breaks things
Be careful when editing PLMs	Massively spam spikes everywhere, it's not as fun as you think
Triple check everything	Forget to make a backup!!!!!!!!

Are you expecting us to make a full hack in this time? I'm guessing not, but since it's hosted by speedrunners specifically, I feel like that's what they want.

This is not the summer contest thing, no. I believe this has actually been going on for a little while, but I only recently found out and figured a central place for submission would be good for everyone entering into this one. Taking part in one or both contests is greatly recommended. ;)
