Thanks TRON for the new version.

I started a new game. I got the charge beam this time. Can't believe I missed that first time. Just got the power bombs. This is a fun hack I find. Big rooms to explore. Taking a break for the rest of the night. Another day tomorrow.
There's a lot of items, and the map lies to me...
There's a drop to a room that is off in the mountains. Room 7ADAD to 7A7DE. Check the spoiler.

Also...
I removed all dots on the map, and applied the item icon patch. Now the map doesn't lie to me. Dots will disappear when you collect the 3 items per dot. It's no joke.

Plus shorter item sounds and faster message boxes for items. OMG this hack is so good.
Great work TROM.

TROM

You've modified my hack and I don't appreciate...
For the icon items, in the original game, many hidden item have no dot....that's the goal! if all items are indicated on the map, that's not fun in my mind....So, that's the reason why I intentionally don't put them on the map....Only the most important of them are shown! But, that's it, you seem to not respect my vision of MY hack...

No offence, but that's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Without map indicators it's often near impossible to actually find items hidden throughout the game. You can argue "oh but I designed it in such a way that it hints that there's an item located here!!!11!", but presumably there's also countless other spots where items are not hidden, but look like they might be, because of terrain variance, or strangely placed enemies, etc.

So, based on your argument, you don't respect Super Metroid, because you modified it? No, of course you don't disrespect Super Metroid. Phosphotidyl was just trying to make the hack more enjoyable for him. Personally, I agree with him. Not marking items on the map is a dumb design choice.

Also, moved this to the Completed Stuff section. Not sure why I hadn't earlier  :pwuh:

TROM

Modify is easy...Create NO!

Voltekka

I have 23 hours of play and can not find the Tidal Beam can anyone tell me or give me some information of where you are? please.

TROM

Take a look in the water cave in the dark forest

PHOSPHOTiDYL

I only did that cause the "key item" icons were off in a lot of places. The map lies to me. Some doors don't line up either. Plus there are so many items, and I'm using the x-ray visor so much, I wanted to speed things up a little bit. It's also helping me in the learning process. I just want the map icons to show up only when I have all the equipment.

I'm really enjoying this hack. I hope you're gonna make another one...

TROM

OK... Thanks for playing

Maybe he wants the player to miss some items. Maybe you're not meant to 100% the game on the first playthrough.

PHOSPHOTiDYL

Okay so I'll edit the patch just for key items, do another playthrough, take note of all the misplaced icons, and fix them myself. I'll also restore the message box and item sounds so it takes ten seconds to tell me I got a missile. Maybe the galactic federation will upgrade my equipment for the next mission.

TROM

Super metroid is an exploration game...So is Lost World...that's said that you seem no to have ALL the hidden item for the first time you play it (I remember, when i play SM the first time, i miss many items and hidden areas)  So is my hack! If you want to play quickly...play "nightmare busters" a "run'n gun"...But (sorry for those who want to be speed) i create this "shit" (like Grime said it is) to explore, look carefully the "bizarre" zone where something could be hidden....that's why, i put A LOT of hidden areas, and items NOT on the map! Sorry again, for those who dislike.. But again, for me, that's the essence of a Metroid game!!!

Gorgon91

I have serious problems with Lost World! I'm completely stuck for 10 days. I've taken the Hydro Armor as the last object...but...nothing...I explored every single spot, but I dunno where to go now. I usually try not to use walkthroughs but this time hack has beaten me. Somebody help me please.

I really like this , I think TROM did a great job, especially in hiding items! Sometimes is really hard but funny to find them! Great job, hope you'll make another one in 2016

TROM

thanks for appreciate this...

Do you possess the Tidal Beam?, so that you enter the last quest of the game : find and open all the hidden gates to free the pass in the 'hunters ship"

if no, try to look carefully in the "water caves" in the dark forest

TROM

Gorgon91, now you get the hydro suit, go on areas you couldn't before! and explore.... I think, there is an unexplored zone underwater on the rock plain... take a look to your map!

And i call anybody here that could make a LP of Lost World....That could be fine for all who get lost!!

Gorgon91

Thank you TROM, I have found the sonic beam! Now I can explore more areas!! I'm finally free

I have all upgrades , energy tanks, reserve tanks,  234 missiles , 79 supers and 33 power bombs. I do like exploration hacks. You have put a lot of work into the custom graphics and layout. I am looking for hidden doors. I found 5 in hilly marshes. I am looking in other areas. My question is that with so many x-ray fool blocks and tunnels I really want to finish this so I ask how many hidden doors are in each area and when do I fight phantoon. Did I miss an area. thank you.

TROM

there are 4 gates in each areas, blue, red, yellow and green...But two areas possess one more gate, it's light gates! you found one in the swamps! rests one...in another area...Then you can cross the gates in Hunters Ship to fight Phantoon!!!

how do I open this? I tried powerbombs and nothing happens, super missiles don't seem to hit it (it acts like there's an invisible block in front of the gate lock.)

piush

I got all the hidden gates including the 2 light gates. but am having a hard time finding the last one which is the green gate in dark forest. can you give me a general idea where to look for it. thank you.

Have you tried hopping up to the yellow button on top and laying a normal bomb there? (If that doesn't work, try a point-blank power bomb there?)

TROM

Useless...As I mentionned before, those gates only open with the last beam....It's the LAST QUEST OF THE GAME!

piush

I finished this.

259 Missiles, 87 supers, 35 power bombs. all upgrades, tanks and reserve tanks. It was fun, lots of exploration . not to hard. I wonder what the exact amount of items to be found was.

TROM

around 279 missiles, 96 super, 40 P.bombs... need to check this cause I don't know exactly!
