SM rom hack with all music removed

I'm looking for what would essentially be a vanilla Super Metroid ROM which is unchanged save for the fact that there is no music whatsoever. No custom music or altering of speed etc, just complete absence of music.

This can apparently be replicated with game genie and pro action codes, but they make the game unstable and prone to freezing. What would work far better for me would be a ROM which is unchanged from the original save for the fact that the music has been totally scrubbed, with all other SFX intact.

Is this sort of thing possible?

Just out of curiosity, what are you doing with it? Just wanted to play your own music in the background?

is there a way to add your own music if it is the right file type? If so, i've been wanting to change the music in my hack...FOREVER...and i'm even better with music than graphics. :bounce:

You need to program the music in manually. You can start by looking at this incomplete guide, and if you still feel like doing custom music, you can look at Kejardon's music-related documents for more information and even an example song.

Custom music is still a new thing and there isn't much documentation or tools available (not that it'd be easy even if there was). There is however a tool in development that will make custom music easier to do, but it'll be a while before we get that. You know who you are. Get back to work!
