If you want Wave:
Head to where you first enter Norfair, and head left past the gate that closes.  If you watch the upside-down enemy, he'll disappear somewhere.
For a more obvious answer:
Shinespark upward where the big pillar is in the background.
Please do not explain the decision, just one word. Is it human possible or not?

It seems that Snes9x doesn't run SM correctly, 1.51 should be the emulator to use.  I'm not sure if Zsnes has the same problem.

It doesn't. ZSNES displays the lights when bombed, without needing to scroll the switches off screen. So that's a snes9x problem.

OMFG..................  Is this for real???     :whoa

Redesign was the first hack I played, and is still my favourite.  SM Zero Mission is a *very* close second.  I think SMZM is a bit more cerebral while redesign is more strategic (if that makes any sense...)

Quietus

You may have to be a little more specific.  If you're referring to the hack being released, then yes, it's true.  Either that or we're experiencing one hell of a group hallucination. :^_^:

Was that a reply to my post?  I guess I'm just *real* excited about a spiritual successor to redesign.   :bounce:

It's more of a retelling of the retelling.  The majority of the areas are unchanged, and I believe this was aimed at addressing people's complaints about the original redesign, particularly where difficulty is concerned.

but Zsnes has a poor - low quality music emulation :<

Is the bug on Snes9x 1.53 a really bad - playtrough-breaker one? or just some cosmetic, minor graphic glitch?

From reading the other posts, it's just a graphical hint for the Screw Attack puzzle that you'll be missing, so nothing game breaking.

Blade

I don't know there numbers, but here some hints:
The one in the west
You have to Power Bomb something in the lava
The middle one
After defeating Gold Torizo there is an unlocked door in Lower Norfair
The one in the east
Check the bottom part of the Grapple Challange. I reached it by some sort of crumble jump but there is an easier way

That was obsurd. Got it. Can't figure out the intended way but whatev, can't say what I did or the dev will remove the way I did it it lol

Drewseph

Red which guardian did you get and how did you get it?  I promise I won't change anything based on what you tell me.

Alisa Orlova

As usual i'm not sure about the "new" method, but it's still a little bit easier and chances to win are higher.
I bet you jumped in between the crumbles then  after you fall down simply jump straight up to make it through before the blocks respawn and space jump up to victory. The intended way is a horizontal spark in the right spot
The unintended way was the only way I could figure it out. I actually thought that I wasn't even suppose to enter that room from that side, had originally thought that there was a different hidden entrance somewhere in LN before getting frustrated and repeatedly tried the unintended route. It wasn't until after you mentioned the intended route that I even noticed that it was there.

Anyone know what the missile/super missile/powerbomb count for 100% is?

No -- I get it.  I'm just psyched @ any update to this hack.   :)....

Definitely gonna run through this again.  I think Redesign is all kinds of awesome....   JMHO....

If you really want to know, read on, but it's obviously a spoiler:
Hint first:
The room before the cavern has strange poles, which offer your clue for finding the correct path.
More obvious hint:
Follow the pattern in reverse order.
Solution:
Starting with the smaller platform, you need to go over, under, under, over, under, then down the hole.
Edit: Sorry, Tyjet!

Sorry, I'm not quite understanding.
What do you mean by "starting with the smaller platform"? When I'm going "over," am I going over the top of both platforms or just one? I assume by "down the hole" you mean the mini morphball tunnel. I've followed your exact pattern a million times and am not getting anywhere. What do I do once I fall down the hole? It just drops me off at the top of the second platform.

He means the very first platform after entering the door. You can either go above or below. Every platform afterwards (going right) is the next "Step", either above or below. Once you fall down the hole, go right; I had made the mistake of not doing that last step and probably missed the door countless times. I'm not 100% sure on the pattern though, and with my savestates, I can't go back and recheck it.

In the room before the Lost Caverns, start at the far right, and go left. Remember the pattern of the light poles as far as up/down, and translate that in to above/below. The last light pole is indicating down the hole.
Drewseph

The background before the doors has a very obvious clue too... (in 1.1)
