After the smashing success that was the Z-Factor 1.3 race. . . I present to you the next hack for the community race; Legacy! Most are probably familiar with the hack already, as it predates Redesign, and it offers a difficulty curve that is nearly identical to the original game. Plus, there is no Zaridia to bork with players as they go. We will obviously need to hammer out the date/time again, but I would suggest sometime in September to allow for plenty of time to practice and route as you wish. Could be earlier though if people are familiar enough with it though.

DETAILS (Will be updated when needed)
HACK: Legacy
RACE DATE: September 19th
TIME: 6PM (1800) EST
ENTRANTS: All of you

So dust off the old hack and start using some polish on those ledge grabs! We've got a race to prepare for! (Perhaps we will throw in glorious rewards for race winners? LIKE FORUM TROPHIES! HAHAHAHAHAHHA GET BLOODSONIC TO SLAVE SOME MORE ZEKE!)

Jordan5

This is definitely my kinda hack to race. I love legacy and it won't take me hours to complete

Vismund Cygnus

It seems you're picking these hacks just to spite me, because I just realised I haven't played Legacy yet either. Oh well, could this be a blind run I actually am available for?!

I will once again suggest we do Phazon hack instead. It's a fantastic hack, and it's huge with plenty of different paths to take, so people could have different routes. As well, length clearly isn't a huge issue considering how large z-factor is.

And if we keep doing these, there is no "good" hack we won't get to. Better to break up the larger hacks with some of the others in between.

Digital_Mantra

Let me know when there's a Limit race, Legacy was boring shit.

The flaw here is that not everyone who will race will have made their own route. That being said, someone will make a route and others will likely follow that route. Even then, let's say that multiple people did route the hack. Someone will make a superior route and others are likely to follow it, especially if they intend to win the race.

This is just how I'm viewing things around these parts though. As for racing Legacy, if this is the plan, then I may or may not join in on this one.

Alright, this is getting closer everyone! I know with the Summer Fun Contest that things with this have been pretty slow in regards to updating this, but the goal is definitely still to do this in September. I have been doing some practice runs of the hack, and I have the first video of that below if you're interested in a possible route. (The one I am doing I probably don't explain too well, and it has a potentially sticky trick in it.) Otherwise, arbitrary date/time stuff also below. Also, Danidub's map of the hack might be useful if you want to make your own route or see possible ways of doing things.

Those seemed to be the best actual dates for being more "weekend-y" and likely have a larger group. (The 21st is another possible option if that is too late for the Brits.) Both are a Friday, so hopefully that fits what the majority can do. Something else to note, if you plan on recording your run, I am going to test out making it with local recordings or something, because perfectly good .smvs have had recent desyncing issues on my end. So if you can get a good quality local recording, I'll be trying to run with that and see how it ends up.

Since nobody else has chimed in, I'll go ahead and throw my hat in for the 19th (the 21st would be acceptable as well).  Hoping to see a good sized turnout.

Dessyreqt

With a few days left to go, I thought I'd go ahead and post my route as well. I'm sure some of you have seen my any% theory TASes, this route is similar to my :34 theory TAS.

Here's a link to my streamed practice run: http://www.twitch.tv/dessyreqt/c/5132051

Hopefully if you're planning to race, you will find the room strats useful.

Just dropping a reminder that this race is today. It will be starting in just over 7 hours. (Recommended you get ready a little sooner so you're good to go right at the start time.) For those who want to send me their recordings and whatnot, I will be getting a video together again, (Due out in 2017!) I am planning on just having people send me their local recordings because I've had quite a few .smv files desync on me. Dopey is also hosting a temporary server for Mumble since his upload is only slightly better than the dirt I have. So that should help keep our audio clear. (You can still connect to it using the metconstmumble.no-ip.biz address, so you don't need to change anything there if you've connected already.)

Otherwise, be prepared for what should be a somewhat friendly competition of silly people trying to keep up with crashtour.
