Problem with Yellow Scrolls patch

I have been trying to get the yellow scrolls patch to work right for a while now. The new scroll types themselves work fine, but whenever I go into certain screens, usually the top left, the camera starts freaking out and drifts all over the place. I've tried it on both a backup of one of my old hacks and a clean Super Metroid rom (unheadered of course) and the same thing happens every time.

The readme did not say anything about this, so I'm stumped. Due to the crazy camera glitches occurring even when the rom is completely unedited aside from having the yellow scrolls patch added, I'm convinced it may be a problem with the patch itself...or it could just be me missing something important. Either way, I need some help here.

Will look into it right now.
Edit: I'm not seeing any issues right now.
Can you tell me exactly what you did so I can recreate it?

Baconface

I took a clean Super Metroid rom, removed the header and added the patch. Intro text goes normally, then the camera goes nuts when the player is able to control Samus.

Black Falcon

So you didn't even modify any scrolls?
I did the exact same thing and it works just fine for me. :/

I even tested out some of the scrolls, no issues whatsoever.
Can you tell me some more instances when you encountered the bug?
Sorry but I can't seem to find any issues.
Maybe your clean ROM isn't really clean :(

Quietus

I've used the patch before without incident.  However, I just did a quick test on the ROM that I've used with nearly all hacks (so I assume it's clean!), and got this, which is what I assume Baconface is on about:
Yellow Scrolls Error

Also, I made no edits.  This is patched, and then straight into Ceres.

Baconface

Yes, that's the exact thing that happens when I use the patch.

Wonder if it's because the patch is meant to be used on a fully custom ROM and it screws up things in vanilla areas. Just a hunch.

I have tried it on some modified ROMs, and the same problem occurs.

Black Falcon

Okay this is weird.
What version are you using? I'm using v.1.2, which contains lots of fixes for previous camera scrolling and door bugs.
I tried EXACTLY what Quietus did in the video (multiple times) and it worked fine. You're probably using an old version then.
Attached the version I'm using.
Note that you can't overpatch one version with another, you have to apply it to a new backup where you didn't use it yet.
I hope it helps...

Just tested a clean ROM with that newer version and it works perfectly! Thanks.

Quietus

Hmm, I downloaded the patch fresh from the site, so perhaps that needs updating, though it did say it was v1.2.
