Embedding Youtube videos

I'm new to this kind of forum, and do not know how to embed Youtube videos. How do I do that?

When you post there's a button that looks like the earth, click it then paste the url for the video inbetween the tags that show up.
If you click quote on my post you can see what I mean.

I'm not even sure there's a need for that.  Unless I'm missing something, I normally just paste the Youtube url, and it's done automatically.  It's only if I don't want it to embed that I use tags.

That's because you put it inside the [url] part, just paste the url without the tags as Quietus said.

Heck, these links should auto-embed just like generic URLs are surrounded automatically with [url] tags (also provided http because I didn't think youtube served on https but it does and I guess Aeva doesn't auto-embed those)

This is a bit off-topic, but since this thread is already active, does anybody know of some good alternative video sites similar to Youtube? I had to close my Youtube account. Just couldn't take Google bugging me everyday and making things without my consent. I deleted 5 pages of Google+ I didn't even know existed, and then the next day, guess what, another one was there. Not only was it there, but they removed the option to delete it, only leaving me to close my Youtube aswell, so I took the opportunity while it lasted. Maybe some people don't mind that stuff, but it drives me nuts. Anyway, suggestions?

Dailymotion.com is a pretty good one in my opinion.
