Felonies:
1. No warez - That means no links, no cracks, no ROMs at all. Offenses of this manner are likely to result in a ban.

2. No trolling/flaming - Flaming is the act of deliberately insulting forum members to try and evoke a response (also known as a flame war.) The opposite is trolling, which is the act of deliberately upsetting users so as to make them flame you. Neither shall be tolerated in the slightest, earning a user at best a warning and/or a temporary ban.

3. No explicit material - The forum is easily accessible to anyone ranging from 8 to 80 years old, and as such, explicit material is not allowed in any way, shape, or form whatsoever. In the case of the arts boards, a certain level of explicit content is allowed (criteria for said level is to be determined by the moderation.) Of course, posting such content is quick means to reach a permanent ban.

4. No 1337-speak - "1337-speak" (leet) posts are simply not allowed, as said language is unintelligible garbage and considered clutter. Posts made entirely out of 1337-speak will be grounds for a ban.

5. No ban evading/contesting - While we may enjoy talking openly with our forum users, ban evading is simply not acceptable. Please do not create a new account or send us an e-mail asking why you were banned; ignorance of the types of crimes possible on the forum is most likely why you were banned in the first place. If you DO create a new account, we will know, and you shall be banned again. You are welcome, however, to come by our channel, #metconst on irc.esper.net, to discuss your ban if you truly and honestly do not understand why.

6. No e-mail/PM abuse - Using people's e-mail addresses to send them threats, send them advertisements for your site, sign them up to receive junk mail, etc. is simply intolerable, and is a bannable offense. This also applies to the Private Message feature of the forum, as well as abusing it to spam and/or ask other members questions you can easily research for yourself.

7. No Plagiarism - This is a big one. We do not tolerate claiming one another's work as their own - be it a hack, patch, tileset, wallpaper, etcetera. If a claim of said crime comes up, we will investigate the matter as much as we possibly can and rule as thus. Violators should assume that they will receive some of the heaviest punishments available if they commit plagiarism in any form.

8. Insubordination - Generally, each and every Mod and Admin on the forums has his or her own style of doing things, and shall issue rulings as they see fit should a user commit any of "The Recognized Forum Crimes." Insubordination is simply ignoring a Mod's or Admin's ruling, and in most cases is not tolerable. If you oh-so very strongly disagree with what a Mod or Global Mod says, go above their head. If they're an Admin, too bad.

2) He never tried to legitimately FLAME someone, if you're willing to go more in depth on the definition. The extent of what he did was create a few 'silly' posts, and those didn't rile up any flamewars anyway, so what's there to talk about? Here's another fact you mentioned, you said that breaking this rule can EARN THE USER AT BEST A WARNING, OR A TEMPORARY BAN. Never did it mention permabans, so this can't be the reason for which you banned him for either.

3) He never posted any porn, basically... Invalid ban reason.

4) Never happened. Invalid ban reason.

5) You obviously can't ban someone for ban evading before they got banned. This discussion is about why he got banned BEFORE this account/thread was made, so this rule can simply not come into question if we were to talk about the past. Not asking for you to unban :..:., since this is probably what puts the nail in the coffin from this point on, but clarification would be nice. What I'm trying to say is that he was not banned for this reason since, before he got banned, he never ban evaded on these forums. Invalid ban reason.

6) He never sent any emails to any member of these forums. The PM's he sent weren't the least bit 'threatening' and had no links, either. How is saying "hello" considered spam?
Definition of spam: Send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet. He clearly didn't send "hello" to a million people here, only 2, if not 1, at best. I'm putting into question as to whether or not sending 1-2 PM's saying hello is a bannable offense, so this can't be the reason, can it?

7) His engine was 100% created by him, besides platform engine and sprites, which he never claimed to be his own. This rule is simply out of this discussion.

8) Ah, see, you banned him based on your own merit, but the thing you forgot to mention was that this rule doesn't come into question unless -

, which suggests that you banned him for breaking one of the 7 crimes above, and so far, none of those rules, as far as I'm concerned, have been truly broken.

I also felt that you (or if you really want to do this, the member being discussed) being banned affected us very hardly at all.
