SAMUS COMBAT ARMOR V.1.1.0


Changelog:
v1.1.0
- added new main menu icons to replace the Power Armor Helmet
- Replaced Samus' visor shot in introduction messages for custom face model
1.0.4: pose tweaks to walljump touching-the-wall poses and the grapple touching-the-wall poses
1.0.3: fixes broken frame in Mother Brain fight when Samus tries to stand after being zapped
1.0.2: enables Samus to hit enemies/doors immediately adjacent to her.

Use an unheadered, Japanese ROM.
A redesign of Samus inspired by her Zero Suit, but with slightly more armor.

Please feel free to use in your hacks (all I ask is a mention in the credits :wink:).  Equally, if you wanna add/alter poses then go for it (not everyone will like the high-aim on her, for example. It wouldn't be hard for someone to implement a low slung version with SPARTA though I didn't like any of the attempts I made at the beginning of this project. I appreciate that the high aim  may ocasionally cause a soft lock for some existing hacks. so you may need to adapt stuff a bit in SMILE sometimes).

So enjoy :) between the redesign and SPARTA, this is probably the hardest code project I've ever done :lol:

Great work, tho playing with new looks will take some getting used to.
One question tho, is difference in shot origin point intentional? I guess it'd have to be?

Thanks :) yes it's intentional, i experimented with a hip shooter pose but it always looked very unnatural. I actually like it feeling different to vanilla. Hopefully it makes playing SM feel slightly new again! I got used to it pretty quickly...

I've corrected her so that she can hit stuff immediately adjacent to her (that was kind of bugging me).

Uhm, I'm not consistent at gate glitching so it could have been just bad luck, but it's possible that 1.0.2 might have broken it?

Offsets are different to the vanilla game so it's very possible this samus cannot gate glitch or will glitch differently. The diagonal offsets haven't changed in 1.0.2
As it goes, I couldn't seem to gate glitch either.

Just played the game end to end. 

Ergo v1.0.3 out to fix a dodgy frame when Samus has been drained by Mother Brain.  That's about all I could find.

I've been going back and forth about whether to include gate glitch (baring in mind it is a game glitch)... I think I still fall on the side of saying: it's one of those things players will need to accept with this version of the game.

I appreciate that Samus is a beloved piece of estate in our fandom so I'm cool with people not liking how different she feels here.  Hopefully though, you understand where I'm coming from with some of the changes the Combat Armor has brought with it.  Playing through it like this today is kind of the first time the vanilla game has felt fresh to me in ... I dunno ... decades I guess.

I've done some tweaks to some wall jump and grapple poses (when clinging to the wall) I wasn't happy with the previous versions. these are a bunch better.
