You'll need to upload the image to one of the many image hosting sites, then copy the forum url, and place it between img tags, like so:

Thanks for the explanation.
Do you have any recommendations as to what site I should use?
I'm don't really want to make an account for a site whichs services I will most likely just need for this single thread here, I have no use for image hosting sites otherwise.

Also, I'm done with the current build.
Took me 4:09 ingame time, I was looking around, but can't find the last missile and super missile pack.  :<_<:
A very nice build; I noticed during the escape that [spoiler]the steam is rising in the room above the room that fills with lava, giving off the impression of the planet actually errupting. Was this present in vanilla SM as well? Because, I can't remember it, and if it was, then it has been executed much better in PB than in the original[/spoiler].
I do have some suggestions; I will write you, Grime, a mail shortly after with my suggestions and nitpicky things I noticed during my time playing through Project base 0.7.1.
This hack is just epic. :^_^:

That reminds me, I still have to check for the other rooms using special palettes.
I checked in Kraid's room, but the colors remained as they should be and always refreshed after using X-ray, I can tell you atleast that much.
Will check for the first missile room and the first super missile room (you are refering to those that are ''the first'' in vanilla SM as well, right?).

Edit: Just checked in vanilla first missile and super missile rooms; both of them don't have the dimming bug present in the Spazer room.
Also, is the big metroid event in Tourian supposed to be able to repeat itself? As soon as I enter the room with the sucked dry torizo and afterwards going to the room with the big metroid, the event happens again, even if I already triggered it before.

I believe there was another thing I wanted to add, but I forgot...

Edit 2: I remembered.
Is it supposed to be that the player is able to use Space jump underwater without having Gravity suit?
The Space jump animation doesn't trigger; however, Samus can make multiple normal somersaults underwater, the effect of Space jump remains intact.

No specific recommendations, no.  If you Google "image hosting no registration", you'll see loads of sites, so just pick one. :^_^:

Hiroshi Mishima

You already watched me run through it, Grime, but since we're discussing the current version.. just wanted to say the floaty physics version was probably the first time I could Infinite Bomb Jump in Super Metroid. At the apex of your jump/bomb jump makes it so easy to know when to time it. I don't gotta think or time it, it's all visual which is best for someone like me who has trouble in that respect.

Here's hoping that whenever you do get around to doing a new version, you'll remember to include a floaty version of that, too! :D

Also, I'm glad to see someone else cause the room dimming, because I had seen it and don't think I actually said anything to you about it. Or at least, don't recall you saying anything after I got Spazer, but I saw it again when I was putting the highlight together and rewatching it.

Edit: heavier/floatier physic edit patches now can be applied to any unheadered SM hack.

Well, about the Speedbooster blocks, I forgot another thing to ask.

Is it possible to make it so that speedbooster doesn't deactivate itself after a while, or is this an intended thing?
Because, I noticed when having barely enough speed to activate speed booster, even when just normally walking or using Space jump that it simply deactivates itself.
I wasn't even running against a wall, the ''blue echo phase'' simply stopped being active while running casually.

Also, I would like to lend you a hand, but I'm a bit busy with RL.
In theory, I'm still involved in checking the script for another game... haven't even started yet, and when I volunteered lending a hand, it was already two weeks ago, or so.   :=x:

I've never had them just die out on me like you're describing, and I've never seen it happen to anyone else. If you can make it happen consistently and give me the details, I can add it to the bugfix list.

VariaphazonSamus

Eh?
That's weird, I'm unable to recreate it...
To be honest, maybe my eyes simply pulled a trick on me, or I didn't press the run button properly in that moment, but I remember that I once used speedbooster and while normally running, it simply stopped having the blue echo phase to be active without me doing anything.
Since I couldn't recreate it, I guess I simply didn't press the run button properly.

Next time I claim something to be a ''bug'' or a ''glitch'', I better validate on that and try seeing if it actually happens to be a bug to begin with.
I'm sorry, I will better refrain from unintentional shitposting now, my apologies. :/

Quote from: Grime on April 28, 2015, 05:05:08 AMDid I miss anything?

Yes, the escape cutscene from Space Colony is so strange.

begrimed

Strange how? Visually, things're gonna be different, but it should feel and play exactly the same as vanilla SM.

Kn0p3XX

Visually it's fine, but the sound scenery is wrong. See here, it's a small video. (Download it, if it's not playing, blame Google.)

begrimed

Ahahah, wow. I knew about the ship sound being a bit out of sync, that's been in PB for awhile, but that other stuff totally slipped by somehow. Thanks for the vid. S'what I get for always having music on when I'm editing and quickmetting I s'pose!

Tomtroid

I tried out Project Base 0.7.1 (Vanilla Gameplay) and I must say, it was interesting. The escape timer was back, indicating that the Colony was going to blow and you can't take your time on leaving it. When I arrived on Zebes, I knew the level design of PB 0.7.1 was going to be there. Overall, it was nice playing a "modern" version of Super Metroid.  :^_^:

Deleted post. See the first post of this topic for current download links.

Tomtroid

I'm sorry, but the Project Base 0.7.1 (Gameplay Only) link doesn't download. It just opens another tab with garbled text. Could you please fix that?

begrimed

No idea why it's doing that, thanks for letting me know. I attached them to the post so you can get 'em that way. If THAT doesn't work, then I'll stick them in a .zip.

Tomtroid

I clicked on it again and it still opens a new tab with garbled text, at least if one clicks on the link that is. But clicking on the attachment downloads it.

Also, a gamebreaking bug I found with the Gameplay Only patch was that if you shoot Spore Spawn with a Super Missile, the game just crashes as soon as the Super Missile hits it.

What the hell? I have no idea why that crash is happening. Could you let me know if it happens with any other enemies/bosses? Assuming you didn't quit when it crashed, haha. Thanks for giving it a go either way.

EDIT AGAIN: NEVERMIND! I fixed it. Should be good to go now! Updated the attachment and link above.

Quietus

For those getting the gibberish text, you can also right-click, and save it that way.

I tried that myself, and it worked. Just had to put .ips at the end of the file to make sure the file type was an ips. But still, that could work as well. Nonetheless, right-clicking to save something seems easier for those who don't want to left-click to open something.

Also, I think Grime or someone else fixed the Super Missile crash bug. Haven't experienced any crashes on my end.

First post and Project Base page are finally updated with all of the alternate versions and configuration patches, woo!

With 0.7.1 now fully out, I won't be touching this hack for awhile. This unfortunately includes the silhouette palettes version that I was planning on also posting today. It is mostly done, but there was a lot of tedium left that I simply wasn't in the mood to tackle. Time to work on something else!

Well, I guess that'll be it for now, huh.

Hiroshi Mishima

Well, I'm still pretty satisfied with the Floaty version, so I think I'm good with you doing something else for a while. I can't speak for others, but I think you deserve one. :p

master86

@Grime very nice hack i cant wait for the next version.
In game play time 4:29 104% + animals saved.
I thing that ridley is are little bit to week same as phantoon.

Narpas Sword

I absolutely love this hack!

I recently beat it with 102% (some over 3 hours) and thought I was the boss. Then I found out that 104% are possible  :O_o:

I'll definitely speedrun this one. In my first playthrough I really wanted to see all the new areas and collect all items (which I failed missing 3 items).

My favorite thing about Project Base are the physics. Really difficult to go back to normal SM physics after it.
I played Redesign Axeil Edition after and I had to stop because I hated the physics so much. Redesign really made the physics worse. I love walljumping and Redesign is like "screw you, you ain't gonna walljump up here".
