In the first pic I think using the darker maridian water would look better, it's just O.O bright right now. Dark room should have dark water imo. I like your tile placements, the contrasting colors have a neat feel. Keep tweaking it and keep us updated :)

Edit: Actually, what am I talking about? The title of this is SM-Abstract afterall. Keep it like that.

You need some diagonal grass "air" tiles, it would add more to the tileset imo. :P

The grass looks like it was just recently combed or something.  :>_>:

More diagonals, bends and random directions would do well for it.

......but I would not be called Dmantra2, just call me, Jamie Webb. :cool:

Dmantra is very artistic with level design.  Every time I look into a room in Eris, it would always inspire me to make a room almost similar to
it....but that can be discussed on a different topic.

Indeed you are Jamie Webb, but your design is that of an early DMan. I'm liking the rooms you present there. I think with stuff like that, if you mixed different tilesets together you'd get outstanding results. Great job.

1. Looks freaking awesome.
2. A bit weird but still very cool.
3. Statue looks freaking ugly, but everyone should know by know that I think like this about these things.
4. Very, very cool! You can feel/see the evil coming from below (kinda)
5. Looks plain ugly to me plus it looks like you need to one wall jump up there. :/
6. Blue still sticks out a bit, but, it's much better and looks really cool.

I'm in a bit of a twist here, this is going to be around Kraid, and idk, what do you think.

Looks more like Lower Norfair where Ridley would be. But, I suppose, if used right (musics, atmosphere, etc.), it could be used for Kraid.

It suits the lava, and gives off the idea that when Kraid rises during his battle, so should lava in his room.

Those pillars look like they should be in a water palace even more though.

Kraid + Lava != Good

Unless you found a way to fix the way lava animates when in the same room as Kraid. Then I'm all for this idea! :D

Unless you go up significantly on the map before Kraid, I'm not too keen on the lava. Water with a good palette blend would be cool though.

Now, if it wasn't for the "close to Kraid" factor, that room would be very, very nice.

Make kraid brown to red in gradiation from full to dead and put lava in his room and it works just fine. What is there to say that kraid can't be in a hot area?

Man DSO, you sure do like that tileset don't you  :razz:? It looks like you've taken my idea and Kennon's talents and ran with them which is great to see. In any case, those wavers moving at that speed look like won't be so easy to hit now.

I'm going to get rid of one of the cloud sets and replace it with some spiky/rocky terrain that will serve to block the players path or just there for aesthetic purposes to give the tileset even more oomph. I'll post pics when I get it done.
