Time for a new banner?

I'm sure WIPs would be welcome if they are far enough along, as some of us haven't released a hack yet.

Like me, I've only released a few one rooms, and few rooms.

I used the font "OCR A Extended" for this at the size of 45 for the name and 19 for the flavor text. I can change the font if someone finds out which one we used for the old banner, since I could not find it.

The old banner as in the green one on the old forums was OCR A Extended.

All my brother can remember was that the name of the font probably started with an M. Also, he cut out the spaces in the letters M and C manually.

Also, it would probably be cool if each banner had its own alt text that included the names of the hacks, too. Probably a difficult proposition unless I set it up in an overly creative manner.

Response #1: How is this in any way relevant to what I posted? I'm rather doubting anyone but me could mess with alternate texts for the site banner :/

Response #2: I honestly don't believe people should limit themselves to much but 800x150, including hack content and having an appropriate (for the hack AND the forum) tagline, IF it has a tagline. Sounds like common sense, but I guess you can't be too sure.

This wasn't specifically in response to your post, but to a number of the posts above containing things like 'what bout this' and 'what about that'.  And by details, I just meant things like picture dimensions, colour depth, and file format, not the actual content of the image.

Yeah, I forgot all about this topic until my brother remembered the font in our current banner: Myriad Pro (not too sure because he was drunk off of his ass, but eh.) I'll have to get a rotation thing set up sometime after this Monday.

Yeah that can't be the font. Uppercase "I" for example does not have any feet as well as "M" the middle goes all the way down rather than half way.

I did however make a shitty rip of the text from our current logo, in case anyone want to use that as base.

Alright, some real guidelines since we're getting into it on IRC:

Size: 800x150 px
File type: PNG, JPG (If you choose the latter for higher quality graphics (Metroid Prime or etc.,) try to avoid artifacts if you can)
File size: No greater than 200KB, use 150KB as a guideline
Content: The words "Metroid Construction", preferably in size 40-46 in the upper left (if someone can figure out what font Bloodsonic used, please let me know.) The background content should be based on content from one or more hacks from participating authors, should they want placement on your banner. Optional tagline in the lower-right based on content if the creator so wishes, although the default is "The ultimate Metroid hacking resource".
Color depth is participant on the type of banner you are putting together!
Subtle animations are okay. Anything that could be perceived as annoying will have the banner rejected.

One banner per person should suffice but if someone wants to put together more than one for review, I won't complain.
