To solve the white borders dispute, I used white to have a more defined edge that really has an important feel where as blue would not be as good as white.  :^_^:

DSO

Multik1llz destroyed the competition. That tileset is awesome, the palettes are great, and the room itself is well-built.
Snarf: Great looking for NES. Sadly, it lost to great looking for SNES.
MM: Grapple challenges, yay! However, when it's hard enough that the majority of players will probably start abusing savestates, I think the difficulty needs toned down a little.

Scyzer

I thought about entering a room this week....
So I did

This isn't the entire room, but it's a small section of it so it'll do

Quietus

I really like Black Soldier's water-to-rock transition.  Your brain tells you it shouldn't work, but it does, and looks really good. :^_^:

Lunaria

^

I'd suggest darkening the brown slightly though, and then it will look like an real awesome cave room with a lake in it! :O

Sadi, your layers have layers. How can I compete?

Lunaria

By making an extremely sexy room that I could totally fap to? :O

Snarf your room has like, 3 layers, and I must admit I wiped a bit of drool off my keyboard for both that room and Sadi's. Black Soldier takes the cake here for me, for doing something I've never seen before, with an ugly tileset, producing something that reminds me of Super Earth Defense Force

Quietus

The white on the mushroom looks a bit clashy, but otherwise I like it. :^_^:

Charmander106

I'm back!!!

BTW: not expecting to win...

MultiK1llZ

Just to make this week really challenging:

WARNING: May take time to load..

Quietus

Hmm, I'm sure I've seen that room before... :O_o:

Yup, it's an old SM: Ground Zero room, speaking of which I have not worked on ground zero in a couple of weeks (Its been put on hold for a new project) =P

BTW: am going to win, because I participated...

Also, Multi that room reminds me of I think world 3(?) in sonic 2, or I think it's world 2(?) in sonic 1

Quietus

In order of how they fit my comments:

Multik1llZ: Seen it before.
Sadiz: Love your style, but I get the 'samey' feel.  I'd like to see something other than Craterian base tiles. :^_^:
Borderjumper: The purple is maybe a touch too vibrant, and the white on the mushrooms is clashy, but it's still a good room.
snarf: I always like what you manage to do with NEStroid, but I always struggle to get past the fact that I was born and raised on Super.
Webber: It's people like you that stop me considering entering a room!  Excellent, as always.
Black Soldier: Bizarrely, the room is fairly empty and plain, but you still get my vote.  Due simply to you surprising me with a great look with old tiles.  Good job! :^_^:

zephyrtronium

I can't seem to vote for all of them.

Actually, I could edit the poll to allow for voting multiple times, but I'm too lazy.

I would like to point out that while I will be going with Webber's room this week, I find the palettes used for the doors to be far too bright, making the room look silly.
This of course, has the effect of loosing immersion, something you want to avoid.

To correct this minor flaw, one must only color the doors appropriately, so they go better with the environment they are being used in.
See Multikill's doors for an example. The Grey portions of the door are much darker, and go better with the room. Furthermore, the doorcap itself is bright, giving it a glowish effect.

The only reason that Multikill's room scores lower then Webber's would have to be the lack of a proper BG. The rest of the room is spot on, great job.

No one is posting any rooms?  :pwuh:

Okay... Well I guess I'll post mine.

EDIT: WTF?! The link is broken guys and the file is gone. I'm gonna see if I can retrieve it.. otherwise, I am screwed =S

EDIT 2: Found an older version of the room! ^_^ Its a little different, but not by much, just the water and sides.

Room is Jesus Christ, however, the green sections of the water kinda trail off into yellow unexpectantly, maybe this looks different in game or I missed it completely? Just looks weird when you're passing the entire pool in the elevator, and the layering for the red rocks on the sides of the shaft also look funky to me. Other than that it looks pretty awesome

JAM

It was a really massive deathmatch. Now it's quiet... Too quiet.

Looking familar, huh? Keep in mind that you can't do walljump and morph in mid-air. Gravity is increased a bit, by approx. 7%, so you can't cover 7 blocks in vertical when jumping. Bomb jumping is still working.

Quietus

I take it you've also adjusted the velocity when leaving a wall after wall-jumping, since you could always do a single wall wall-jump otherwise?

Phazar

Great, now I have to create that Kraid room in my hack without looking like plagiarism....
