Interesting, FoF. It would be nice to be able to see the detail, though.

FullOfFail

Oh dear, so many choices...

Well.. Snarf gets my vote by default. But I'll go ahead and analyze each room as if I'm an third-party member.

FullOfFail: I enjoy the general layout of this room (it's mediocre anyway), but one thing I dislike is how the blackness of the BG conflicts with the FG shading. I looks like it's an expansion of the sky, even though it isn't. I will argue to myself however, that the room looks fine ingame. Also, the brightness of the Brinstar tiles against what appears to be a night environment is a bit odd. I need to experiment and see if I can import the Crateria sky, and getting it working properly.

Snarf: I like the subtle shading of this room. For instance, the darkness of the top orangish bricks, as to compared to the one's right below it. It's a simple thing, but makes it much more appealing to me. I'm not sure what else to comment on that won't be redundant of me. I've already complimented your tileset, doors and animated water in the past. That half circle seems to be a new piece, and I like it. It gives the impression that the sewers are continuing.

FoF: Nice room. In particular, the layout is appealing. Only problem I see here is the bottom left doesn't seem like it'd serve a purpose and is more of a dead end within the room; something I'm distasteful towards.

Snarf: I don't even know man. How you do it that is! Dark colors complement the mood of a small room with a pool of water in the middle. For some reason, it just seems fitting.

Snarf's got meh vote.

I don't normally vote when I submit a room, unless one of the rooms really stands out. Anyhow, I like what you've done here. It's nice and open and full of platformy goodness. If the background is solid black in-game, I like it. When it comes to NEStroid, I have no choice in these matters, but I don't see it that often in SM, and it works well with this room. Not sure why, but this room makes me think of Blaster Master, which is bonus points.

I have no constructive criticism this week, so suffice it to say I like FoF's room.

Ditto.

Kasel

I lost the ROM when my other computer crashed but here is the picture of one of the rooms I used for Eternity.

Sorry for the BTS.  Enjoy.

Before viewing this room...

This is a room from metroid zero mission that is isn't redone level much but what I am showcasing in this room is the re-palette of the tileset. I am redesigning the palettes from the game to make it an exciting and refreshing new experience to this wonderful game! Here it is:

Kasel

Webber got mine.  I enjoyed the new palette.

MetroidMst

I love your room Kasel. The BTS is a bit distracting, but it still looks well done. Decent layering, not too complex where it totally blows your mind into another dimension.

The pallete is cool Webber... Not much to say about anything else as it is unedited.

Kasel

The ROM for Eternity was lost when my old PC crashed.  I'll have to redo a lot of work.  That picture was saved by my dropbox so I had no way to producing one without the BTS.

Kasel

The room I WAS going to enter last time.

MetroidMst looked good, but I can't see shit so therefor my vote goes to Kasel! :O

FullOfFail

I want to give it to MetroidMst for the custom tileset, but I just cant tell what's going on there exactly. Can't tell if you blacked out unused/unfinished areas, or if that's just how the room is, and looks fine ingame. Kasel's room is nice for what it is, but pretty run-of-the-mill in terms of design. I would say it could use rock shading, but for this particular design, I think it's best to leave it like this. I will say one thing I really do like about it, is how the bricks have a sub-layer of rocks looking like it's supporting it. Gives off that buried temple vibe. So yeah, Kasel gets my vote.

MetroidMst

Kasel may have a pretty basic room, but it is a great looking basic room. Mine is well... much more interesting in game I would imagine.

FullOfFail

I feel the need to correct myself, I said Kasel's room was run-of-the-mill, but on second thought, setting the bricks up and cliffs like that aren't too common. Although I'm sure it has been done before. I think I might be biased against the Crateria tileset too, just seen too many.

Uhm, no offense, but I already see a rather large issue with the room.  :O_o:

I mean, I can say it right here, if you want. Or I can wait until the others are up and we start doing votes. Mind you, if we don't get anyone else posting a room, I guess that'd make you win by default. :p

.. you know what? Screw it, I'm gonna enter a room, just cause I feel like it. We need at least two rooms or this won't be much of a contest. Lemme go get a room dump from the rom...

Hang on, comp trouble again. I'll edit this in a bit when I can put the room up.

All right, here we go. Warning, it's long/tall.

MetroidMst

You can go ahead and say it as I'm almost positive I know what you're going to say. (I could be surprised though.)

Hiroshi Mishima

Well, all right. The background and foreground look identical, making it very flat. Although I liked the layout.
