System specs?
OS?
Specific programs?
They're yours, my friend... As long as you have enough, MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, Rubies!

So, rant, soak your pants, whatever, ITT computer talk.

Waker

so how bout them i-series chips.

Note to anyone with them: they're shit. I was a digital systems architect at AMD for a few years before resigning last year, and I got a chance to slice open the packaging of the chip and take a look, microscopic-wise, at the internal die. The fucking thing was a mess.

I'd rant about it further but it'd be too much gobble-dee-gook to explain to the on-educated crowd.

The Envoy of the Beginning

I built this one.

  • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 (Rev. 2.0)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 750 Quad-Core Processor 2.66 GHz (overclocked to 3.6 GHz), with a Cooler Master GeminII S CPU cooler (because the one included with the CPU is garbage)
  • RAM: 4GB (2 x 2GB) Kingston DDR3 SDRAM 1600 MHz
  • Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 1GB (May consider upgrading in the near future)
  • SSD: Corsair Force F40 40GB SSD
  • HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB HDD
  • Optical Drive: LG CD/DVD Burner (Will replace with a Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Burner)
  • Case: Azza Solano 1000 ATX Full Tower
  • Power Supply: Antec Earth Watts 650W
  • Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

  • Keyboard: A very old Microsoft USB keyboard
  • Mouse: Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse
  • Speakers: Creative I-Trigue 3400 White
  • Monitor: Dell 1704FPT (old monitor, will replace soon)
Don't have a sound card yet (using onboard Audio), but I have considered buying the ASUS Xonar D1.

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2GHz.
Chipset: Intel i845G Rev. A1.
BIOS: Dell AO3 from 2002.
Graphics: ATI Radeon 9200 AGP.
OS: Dual boot of WinXP and Linux Mint.

I'm not gonna bother listing the rest, as I have about 0 knowledge of computer hardware. All I know is that I need a new comp.

Menu->System->System Profiler and Benchmark; click Summary and then click Copy to Clipboard. That's how I got my statistics.

Is that in Mint or in 7? Cause if it's in 7, it's probably not that way in XP.

Qactis

It's not. Hardware profiles in system, and device manager can tell you what you want to know

zephyrtronium

It was for Mint. In 7, or probably any version of Windows (XP included), I always run dxdiag to find out specs.

Digital_Mantra

My computer doesn't like to be called 'computer'.

It's a 'cybernetic quantum organism' with:
-progressive sentience imbued by Zorfnol from the Montrique Sector
-12 vagina ports and 2 penis fans (they have fun when I go to sleep)
-36 juolbrakahnoyee brain cables for maximum VR experience
-A tectonic smegma cased exterior glob exoskeleton with pulsating veins
-A Zorfnol Seal of Approval from the Galactic Sods of the Nephilim
-other stuff..

personitis

^- And that would explain why Eris turned out so alien and beautiful right? (^^)

As for my comp, I'll post specs on it when it arrives.

Hiroshi Mishima

Let's see what bringing up dxdiag will get me...

Operating System: XP Pro (5.1 Build 2600) with Service Pack 3
System Manufacturer: Datel Systems
System Model: OEMPC
BIOS: Version 08.00.07 - 11/13/02
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.53GHz
Memory: 1022 MB RAM
Direct X: Version  9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

No idea what the system model means, although the only thing I've changed since I bought this was doubling my original amount of RAM (was originally half a gig).. oh, and I bought a graphics card at the same time. This was back in mid 2006 when my old card fried itself and it took me like 2 months before I could find someone competent who would tell me what I'd figured out, let alone replace it. I have no real clue what half of my system specs are anymore, and I've had the thing since like February 2003.

Let's see what other things I can dig up using Device Manager...

Computer: ACPI Uniprocessor PC
Hard Drive: 74.5 GB total (about 860 MB left)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 LE
Sound: uuhm.. SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio?
Monitor: LG Flatron (if that's a proper name)

I can't tell you what my CD and DVD drives are, beyond that I could burn CDs (not DVDs) and that both are no longer functioning although I'm sure they're still attached cause I made sure they were after they originally stopped working earlier this month.. I'm also not sure how reliable some of this information is, considering my computer wants to shit itself when I try to run something like Half-Life or MegaTen: Imagine these days, not that I have the room to.

Out of curiosity.. Black Soldier, how much did it cost to build your PC?
