Here's a page for my mini-hack I'm working on. I don't have time nor motivation for a full sized hack of super metroid, so I decided to go with a little hack which will be the most advanced "technically" I've ever done.

I called it SM Clone Mission. I came up with a little story for it :
Before Samus left the crumbling Zebes, she could hijack some of the Pirates data. She learned from them that the Pirates actually cloned the larva and took the real one to another planet, very similar to Zebes yet very far from it. That would imply there is another Pirate base out there. Samus has to get back the real larva and destroy yet another pirate base. By reading more of the data, she found out the larva would be on a Pirate Frigate on orbit around this planet, called PS-521, the adventure begins at she approach the pirate's lair.

Little presentation :

In this hack, Samus will certainly go across 3 main zones : Crateria, Norfair and Tourian. I will see about renaming them later. There will be only 1 of the main bosses, Ridley, and the hack won't be ended after his death, so this hack is a bit more about exploration and fun. It's also the first time I edit GFXs but I'm already experienced with hex editing. I might certainly have to use ASM near the end because the Self-destruct will begin after picking up a PLM but I'll see about that on time.

As for the future, I will tweak the game through hacking but I already have general idea of what I will do and basic maps

thanks for enthusiasm. I'm still working on the first room to make it less boring and generic.
Also, if you want an example of my level design skills, see my old hack : http://forum.metroidconstruction.com/index.php/topic,1684.0.html
It's not officially cancelled, but won't ever see the light of day, that's why I'm now aiming for small-scale hack.

Also, more precisions about the difficulty of the hack. You won't have to use any techniques (Shinespark, Wall jump, Mockball, Infinite Bomb Jump) to finish the game and most items can be obtained without those. But most tanks can be obtained earlier by using said techniques and some items WILL require said techniquesn, just like the original Super Metroid.

There's already 2 examples in my updated first room. Both items can be obtained by infinite bomb jump OR High-Jump + a Wall Jump OR simply power bombs

Just FYI, the only technique you mentioned that is required for 100% in the original game is the shinespark. :^_^:

Oh yeah I remember you. I know you have potential man just keep at it

Thanks for your messages  :^_^:

I greatly improved the first main room and went to next rooms. For the moment I give lot of details of my advancement to be sure to take the right path then I'll give less informations about it. Here's the second room you'll visit by leaving the base from the right.

Supposed to be some sort of broken bridge, there should be a more wild part of the base to explore during the journey on crateria.
I'm still modifying it though. Don't forget that none of my screenshot are final versions

Give it vines ; make it a more "underground jungle (No, not terraria..)" maybe change the colors a bit...

I think your crateria is looking great man good use of slopes and the mechanical tiles appear much more straight and man made, like they should. Keep it up bro looking forward to more content
