So do you start with Morph Ball or are you stuck with some sliding ability or something?

Kasel

Lawl.  Yeah, you get this wicked awesome sliding ability.

Kasel

That last screenshot I posted is obsolete. This is the updated version.

You may get your chance soon enough.  I will be releasing a second version of the demo once I have all of the rooms from the previous demo reworked and everything is in working order.  The demo will include a look at the first area of the game along with the first boss.  I am unsure as to how many power ups you will gain right now but I'll release that information with the demo.

Stay tuned~

Cloud20

Nice work! Where is the production now? Did you finish the demo? :)

Kasel

The production is on an "When I decide to work on it" basis.  As of right now, I have to repoint some enemy data then continue to detail out the old rooms.  I do have a copy of the demo that is ready for play up to a certain point but the rooms are outdated (Before I started revamping them.)  I'd be glad to supply it if you'd like.

If your demo is ready, in my opinion you shouldn't hesitate to post it, your graphics and FX1 use are interesting. I think that people here will be enjoyed to try it ;)

Kasel

Here it is.  There are some glitches that will be noticable, there may be a permastuck or two that I missed way back when, and some of the enemies need to be rebalanced.  You'll know when you reach the end of the demo because you will enter a door that takes you into a heated room in lower Norfair.

Enjoy.

**EDIT** The IPS file is for an unheadered ROM.

Cloud20

Demo tried, and it's a very good beginning. Of course, as you said, I see a permastuck in the second aquatic room after the ship, and the right door in the other way don't lead in the right place of the room. But Atlas is an interestic area, mixing a wet crateria with a "top maridia" design. Becoming to be curious when you include temple brown stones in the last room, to what area it will be lead :) ? Congratulations for the huge silver torizo design, including three doors.
A detail was very unusual, but in a good term, the static morphing ball. I think you want to make sense, why morphing ball should be move when samus is standing? You are right! And you are the first person to find this idea, it's a good thing.

Good luck for the rest of the work!

The morph ball animation was done by Black_Falcon a while ago.  It was always a nice little touch so I make sure to use it in every one of my hacks.

To be honest, Exodus is a very interesting planet and I have plans for the deeper bowels that I hope go over the way I'm thinking they will.  Umm.. I did plan on releasing an updated demo when I finished the revamping of all those rooms.  You were able to complete the demo, yes?

Also, you said there is a door that does not lead to the correct area.  Which one is it exactly?  I could have sworn I had the doors connected properly except for the very last one you go through.

Final Note:  I will be honest as well.  My skills with ASM and creating GFX and tilesets are very limited.  My skills lie in my ability to lay out the design of a room but I can repoint data like enemies, doors, and room data.  The tilesets currently in use there in Atlas are the Crateria Redesign tileset (Permission granted by Drewseph), and Grime's Tileset for PB (Permission granted by Grime during the hacks earlier stages.)  The bad thing about my limitations is the fact that I'm more then likely going to require a new tileset for some parts of the planet (I was wanting to use the fusion tilesets for things like underground bases but I'm not even sure if the sets I have are even ready to be placed in the game.

Door mistake :

...leading to this incorrect place :

So the good door code should be : 92FD - 00 - 05 - 4E - 16 - 04 - 01 - 8000 - B9A2

For the borrow of palettes and others, don't worry about it, I think that during the progression of your work you will bring your personal touch, I trust you.

Kasel

Lawl.  I'll get that fixed.  I didn't even think about it to be honest.

I believe I have already brought some of my own flavour even with the tilesets.  The rooms I have created with them are beautiful.  You should see the way they look with the revamping. :3

I'm agree with you. Eternity have a good potential. :^_^:

Kasel

I plan on returning to work on Eternity soon.  I've just been busy as hell with work and the like.  I hope to have an update soon.  We shall see.

SUPER METROID DOORS

^ This.

If anyone comes in here and bitch about redesign I will bitch slap them.
Redesign kind of sucked, especially the IFBJ. I agree with you on that Kasel. Oh crap, Crys is coming at me with a upraised hand! I like your palette's and how they're set up, now if only I could create my own it TLP I would be the happiest hacker here....I think. But once the summer starts, I'm going to really crack down on this hack.

If you're referring to the IBJ (Infinite Bomb Jump), I never understood how people found it any harder than learning to do so in the original game.  You start the manoeuvre in the same way, and rhythm keeps it going.

If you say so bro, because every other hack to come out on SMILE 1.1-1.2 was sooooo good right.

This is looking great, Kasel. I'm excited to see the finished product.

I was speaking about my hack....I think. Never got to play the demo :/. It was gone before I could grab it.

Eternity is in a state of hibernation yet again.  I backed everything up from my old computer except the ROM apparently even though I could have sworn I grabbed it.  Everything that was done recently has to be completely redone and it's a bit of a buzzkill.  It'll be back...but not for a while.

Sorry everyone.

Edit:  Anyone interested in the demo will receive it upon request.  It's old and a little buggy but it works and IS completable.

It's very discouraging when you lose which required so much work. I sympathize.
But don't lose hope, good luck for recovering your hack.  :^_^:

Kasel

I pretty much lost all of the revamping work.  I'm back to square one on moving everything to a fresh ROM and redetailing.  I had done over four rooms already and with the amount of detail I was putting into the rooms...Let's just say going back and redoing it all is going to be one hell of a chore that I just don't have the time or the will to do right now.

Kasel

Yeah.  It's something at least.
