Just watched part 1 and I'm not very impressed. You added buffs and more hazards. That's not the definition I was taught. Remakes are great Idea even if It's been done before but you need to spend more time on it.

Not to mention a remake implies that you are making the game over from scratch not doing a hack.
So you may want to consider changing the title as well.
