Qactis gets my vote.  It's rare to see a Wrecked Ship room that can hold your attention.

MetroidMst

This is not a contest. This is Qactis.

That being said... It is the Wrecked Ship, so it doesn't have much going for it other than Chozo birds being dismembered and hung from the ceiling. Other than that, it is a pretty average room with nothing of note. (Except maybe the big light bulb thing. I like that too.)

Quote58

One of the new underwater rooms for the next Advent update.

Digital_Mantra

Your background cavern openings to the outside should be more varied in shapes (and not so many same sized copy and paste holes).

Weterr123

I second what Dman said, however, it is an excellent room and will take some beating!

Qactis

It feels way too empty and mundane for me

It's like 1 o'clock in the morning but can I still submit?

Quietus

Shadow for me.  Not so much because I preferred the room, but because I felt Cobra's room had a few parts I didn't like.  I am not keen on the grab rails just ending with no blocks on the end, and some of the walls looked like they had the inner and outer edges inverted (tiling errors?), which just looked odd to me.

That's not to say that Shadow's room isn't good, of course. :^_^:

Shadow: overall good layout and tiling.
BG could have been better, as well as layer 2.
(I'd use connecting cave tiles to make it look interesting and to break up the BG)

Flame: although that's the best looking chozo statue I've EVER seen, room layout and general tiling could have been better.

EDIT: I think this is *about* how transparent it would be in game.

Quietus

99% of that room is fine, but those pipes being cut off in the acid kills it for me.

Zhs2

Plus the acid being a pixel higher than the tank it is next to. FlamingCobra, however, assures that the acid is supposed to be transparent...

FlamingCobra

what I could do is I could take the acid out and add it as a new layer in GIMP and assign like 50% transparency to it. Then it'll look pretty much like it does in-game. What do you guys think about this?

to be honest, i liked your first room better. it just needed some adjustments, and it would have been pretty good.

Qactis

I like projects room. It would have a nice feel in a game, bro

snarfblam

I like the feeling the stark contrast gives Project's room.

FlamingCobra

look guys, this "only 2 rooms" thing has got to stop.

Qactis

lol man just means you gotta bring your a-game to win

Quietus

Project for me.  It just looks like it'd slot right in to a good ol' fun hack. :^_^:

passarbye

neither room looks particularly good this week, so no vote from me.

Digital_Mantra

Project for me, really dig that room.

Really?! Your standards must be off the charts, I cannot wait for your hack!!

I must say that project's room is interesting - take IBJ out of the equation, and it's a one-way room for the most part, until of course you get space jump or speed booster. Oh, and it looks quite funky too.

just a new room in Advent. Nova door at the bottom, fog fx1 with the lighter more lively settings that are in the lower jungle, and an item in the lower left corner, though I'm sure that part was obvious.
