The room is very noobish. This room is very basic and the level design is very square. Not trying to be harsh, but this room is very bland.[/spoiler]

I like the tileset but I really don't care for the palette. I feel like you should include more filler tiles than just a repeat of the same ones. But the level design is really great.[/spoiler]

I feel like this would look better as a 1x2 room, with the chozo nested on organic ground after the bridge. Being crammed in there sitting on the CRE just doesn't look right.
Also, I'm not a fan of continued slopes like that with the stock Crateria tiles, it has just never really looked right to me. I would try altering that leftmost upside down slope into more of a stalactite shape, that's my own personal aesthetics preference.
Your corners are the block that's meant to be connected to the darker BG on the edges. You might want to fix that (or add in those darker BG tiles to flesh out the room).

I like that you're thinking ahead and giving people reason to return to rooms they visited before.
It appears the bridge is not made of crumble blocks.

The olive sky/ground palette is okay, but I'm not sure I like that brown WS against it.
I can't really see the utility of the massive vein of blocks from the middle of the left side, nor do I like how it meets the wall at the left side.
I just don't like the way the entire upper half of the room looks. I think it would've looked better if it were more open to the sky instead of all the doors being enclosed in mountains.

I like the lower right quadrant of the room.  I also like how you've incorporated the underwater ground tiles into the overall style.

Echoing the comment about the blocks above the pillar. I like the one filler tile except in the case where it meets those blocks. Maybe if you had some brighter filler only next to the blocks, they could stay...

Love how you've got some dead vegetation as well. Overall the lush palette and everything just makes it look like a foreboding jungle temple, one populated by vicious tonberries. Also I would love to use FX3 to turn those foggy BGs into an actual third background that scrolls at a slower rate.

Being nitpicky but I'm not in love with those brown tileset 3 "window" blocks in the BG next to the Norfair pillar BGs. I think a different palette might look better in this screenshot. (I know ingame experience FX makes the brown not so bad, but still, we're judging the picture here)
NEEDED MOAR DEAD RIPPERS CAUGHT IN THE VINES.

Did anyone notice the alternating palettes on those Norfair BG pillars? Cause I didn't til you pointed them out, then I was all "Hey that's pretty cool".
Randomly oriented blocks FTW. I bet Grime never would've guessed what SoAlien has turned into.

This was a really tough decision. Both MetroidMST and Shadow96 had alot of detail, but since it was two very different styles it was hard to contrast and compare. Aesthetically they're about even, so I had to resort to my superficial personal preference and go with the brighter, more vibrant entry. Leaning it in Shadow's favor. It's really a tie in my mind, though. Great stuff, guys.

Main points instead,

irundas: I dislike your room. The palette is bleh, the tiling isn't very good, and it just isn't appealing to me at all. However, it's an improvement on your last entry, so good job. Keep trying.

Law: bland, borring, but useful. Having them come back to an early room much later is good. tiling is blah though.

Mst: Eh, it's aight. I like the palette, it's really good, but I'm not much of a fan of the theme. It's a damn fine room for what it is, I just expected a little more.

Myself: well, I made this as a legit room for a possible hack. not just for rotw, so I didn't put as much effort/detail into it. unfortunately, I hadn't added some stuff that's in the tileset now, if I had it would look a lot better. Anyway, it's an okay room. looks good in game, so I'm sorta happy with it.

DSO: Not sure what you're talking about with that layer 3 thing, but if you'd like to help me out and try it, you can do so.

Edit: forgot to mention. DSO, I actually did make seperate filler tiles to go next to those blocks, it's fairly subtle, but the edges are brighter than the rest of it. It's not really noticeable unless you know to look for it. But it does make them fit a bit better. I guess I need to make them even brighter than.

MetroidMST:i love that your room is not zebes. but the graphics are too complex and i can't relay see whats going were. 8/10

iRundus:i like alot of the stuff your doing with this room. the colors work well for me, and there is good tile variety. except inside the floors and walls. its the same repeating tiles. 5/10

law:i'm sorry man but i rate rooms on how much they take me to a new planet. 1/10

Shadow96:i looked at this room many times, and can't find anything wrong. great job. 8/10

Yeah, there are many good rooms this week. This is rare to see so many fantastic rooms. I think we should have the top three or four, like shadow suggested, continue on another voting period. It would make this week much more involved and exciting.

Yeah, I wasn't implying that the competition should be altered.  Only that it was a shame that we've had some weeks where (relatively) poor rooms were thrown in, just to hold the vote, and now we'll lose some quality rooms just because it's a big week.  Bound to happen, I guess.

Hence zeke saying triple kill, in reference to Multikillz old comment when -he- won 3 times in a row lol. Project was pretty mad so he submitted. Webber usually comes out of nowhere to knock repeating winners off their horse, and I guess Jamie followed up as well. Rundas keeps making better and better rooms (generally) so I'm sure he'll pick up a win soon if he keeps it up. I do agree with snarf crys the difference in palette on your background is a bit of a turn off. Webber your room has a whole truckload of tiling errors man, it appears a bunch of these were intentional aesthetic tiling choices? I love how the bg green rock has a shadow in the water, that's badass. Squishy it's a pretty solid room just not a whole ton going on imo
